Horse Fence Installation

Horses can be hard on fences and fences can be hard on horses. A good horse fence is tall enough, visible enough and smooth enough that a horse will respect it and not get hurt. Wood board, vinyl rail, pipe and no-climb mesh each have strengths, and the right choice depends on the number of horses, their temperament, the upkeep you want to take on and how the fence looks from the road.

We install horse fences for farms and estates in Nashville and across Middle Tennessee. We plan the layout with turnouts and gates that are safe to lead a horse through, use heavy posts, keep wire and sharp hardware off the inside and build corners that do not trap a horse.

FAQ

Common questions about horse fences

How tall should a horse fence be?

Four and a half to five feet is common, taller for stallions and jumpers.

Is barbed wire safe for horses?

Horse owners usually avoid it because of injury risk. We recommend safer options.

Should I choose wood or vinyl?

Wood is classic and repairable. Vinyl needs less upkeep. We can show both.
